Bianca Censori is reclaiming her story through the use of doppelgängers.
The architect, who is married to the artist formerly known as Kanye West, recently appeared in her first widely publicized conversation with Interview Magazine—though she wasn’t the one speaking. Instead, a model wearing a mask of Censori’s face answered questions on her behalf.
During the exchange, editor Taylore Scarabelli asked whether Censori ever feels “trapped” by her image. The designer and model has been married to Ye since 2022 and has frequently made headlines for wearing revealing outfits, leading some to speculate that she’s being objectified by the rapper-producer.
Censori is currently in Seoul, South Korea, promoting her project BIO POP (THE ORIGIN), a performance art piece featuring models styled as versions of her, twisting into bondage-inspired poses and furniture-like shapes.
“The doppelgängers are not copies of Bianca. They’re spillages. They’re what happen when a public image detaches from the person who animates it,” the model said on Censori’s behalf while sitting beside her.
“A woman in the public eye is made to watch versions of herself multiply without her consent,” the model went on. “People project, people invent, people erase. So she shapes the versions they create, the phantom selves.
“This is not a confession of feeling trapped. This is an act of repossession. She is taking back the unauthorized clones. She’s not trapped by her image. She’s multiplying it until the original becomes myth.”
BIO POP is part of an ongoing installation series that Censori is reportedly set to continue through 2032, showcasing “reliquaries, confessions, sacrifices, and rebirth.” The Bully rapper was on hand to support his wife during the project’s launch last week.
The works slated to follow BIO POP include CONFESSIONAL (THE WITNESS) and BIANCA IS MY DOLL BABY (THE IDOL), both expected to debut in 2026.
