Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Son Moses Was Embarrassed by Her Sex Scenes in ‘Marty Supreme’

Gwyneth Paltrow is being honest about the awkward side of bringing your kids to a movie premiere.

At a recent Q&A after a screening of Marty Supreme in Santa Monica, the Oscar-winning actress shared that her 19-year-old son, Moses, was definitely not excited to watch her intimate scenes with co-star Timothée Chalamet on a massive screen.

“Oh my God! My poor son,” Paltrow joked while chatting with Demi Moore, who moderated the discussion, according to People. She explained that Moses was visibly uncomfortable at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, saying he was completely mortified and “wanted to die” while sitting through the sex scenes featuring his mom.

Paltrow attended the December L.A. premiere with Moses, whom she shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin. Just a week later, she took things a step further by bringing both Moses and her 21-year-old daughter, Apple, to the New York City premiere. It turned the film’s rollout into a full-on family moment—though Moses clearly wasn’t enjoying every second of it.

Directed by Josh Safdie, Marty Supreme is a high-energy period movie set in 1950s New York City. Timothée Chalamet stars as Marty Mauser, a shoe salesman who becomes obsessed with being the greatest ping-pong player in the world. Paltrow plays a powerful table tennis figure who enters Marty’s life, and she’s previously hinted that their on-screen relationship is anything but subtle.

In an earlier interview, Paltrow described her character as being tied to what she jokingly called the “ping-pong mafia,” and teased that she and Chalamet “have a lot of sex” in the movie, emphasizing that it’s “a lot.”

She also explained that their characters’ relationship is both romantic and strategic. According to Paltrow, her character has had a tough past and finds renewed energy through Marty, but the connection comes with conditions on both sides, making it feel somewhat transactional.

Paltrow didn’t hold back on her praise for Chalamet either, calling him a “thinking man’s sex symbol” and applauding his professionalism. She described him as polite, deeply committed to the craft, and genuinely fun to work with.

The film also highlights how much Hollywood has changed since Paltrow first entered the industry. She revealed that an intimacy coordinator was used on set—something she admitted was completely unfamiliar to her.

She added that when she was asked if she was comfortable with specific choreography, her response was blunt, noting that she comes from a time when actors simply got into bed, got naked, and let the cameras roll.
