T.I. has opened up about why he no longer respects 50 Cent, pointing to the drama surrounding their rumored VERZUZ showdown.
In a preview clip from an upcoming episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game, shared by co-host Gillie Da Kid on social media, T.I. broke down what allegedly went down behind the scenes with the battle that he says was once in motion.
“It was really about celebrating each other’s catalog,” T.I. explained. “Me and this n***a talked about this. I just ain’t call him out of the blue. This ain’t come out of nowhere. We were moving around in Los Angeles, selling some shows together.”
According to T.I., the idea for the VERZUZ battle had been discussed years earlier. The ATL rapper said they agreed he would publicly float the idea first, and then 50 Cent would follow up with a response. But when T.I. mentioned it, he claims 50 acted like he had no clue what he was talking about.
“It’s like, fuck all of it,” T.I. said. “Now, I question your character. N***a, just say you don’t want to do it.”
When Million Dollaz Worth of Game hosts Gillie and Wallo told him the matchup would be epic, T.I. shut it down quickly.
“That sit ain’t going to happen,” T.I. stated. “I don’t want to stand on stage with him. I don’t respect him.”
Earlier this month, T.I. also challenged 50 Cent during an appearance on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, claiming the rapper “don’t want no smoke.”
50 fired back on Instagram — half serious, half trolling — warning T.I. to stop mentioning his name and later referring to him as “King rat” in a comment section.
T.I. didn’t hold back in his reply. “You playing on MY NAME when only one of us a rat in real life…you know I got your paperwork right?” he wrote. “And my transcript is available online. Your excuses is useless. Get yo ho ass in the box or STFU and live in fear. You soft son. You’ve lost my respect. Fckn [duck].”
