Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang Reveals Its Newest Artist Signing

The pgLang roster continues to grow as the creative company and label co-founded by Kendrick Lamar has officially introduced its newest artist, Imani Imani. The announcement arrived alongside the surprise release of her 11-track project, Papercut, which dropped earlier today. Reports indicate that Imani has been part of the pgLang family since 2024.

For many listeners, Papercut serves as their first official introduction to the rising R&B singer. However, she has already built a following online under the name Imani Selina, with several songs and snippets circulating across platforms like YouTube. Fans may also recognize her from Kendrick Lamar’s unreleased track “I Feel Something,” which debuted during the Chanel Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Show and featured her vocals. Her song “Snatch” was also included in the presentation.

Celebrating the announcement, pgLang co-founder Dave Free left a supportive message in the comments section of Imani’s Instagram post promoting Papercut.

“a powerful wave of admiration, and deep validation for a major accomplishment, steady progress, or perseverance through hardship. Congratulations @imanimani :-)” he wrote.

Along with the release of her new project, Imani also unveiled the music video for “Mindgames,” directed by Keanna Williams and Neal Farmer, giving fans another look at the artist as she officially begins her next chapter with pgLang.

It appears pgLang is keeping its momentum rolling through the summer of 2026. Earlier this year, Baby Keem delivered his latest project, Ca$ino, and now Imani Imani’s Papercut is shaping up to be another standout release for the season.

At the same time, fans remain eager for news about a new album from Kendrick Lamar. With GNX still relatively recent, many listeners believe the Compton rapper could already be preparing his next move. Speculation intensified after mysterious “Who Is The Giant?” posters surfaced in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New York, although there has been no confirmation linking the campaign to Kendrick.

The conversation has only grown louder following the release of ICEMAN and the various shots Drake has directed toward Kendrick in recent months. As a result, many fans are hoping the pgLang co-founder has a response—or perhaps an entirely new project—waiting in the wings.

For now, the spotlight belongs to Imani Imani as she officially joins the pgLang roster. Alongside the release of Papercut, the singer also unveiled the visuals for “Mindgames,” offering fans a deeper look at the newest addition to the label’s growing lineup.
