Despite it being Pride Month, Boosie Badazz says transgender women will not be permitted at his upcoming topless pool party.
The rapper, who has frequently made headlines for comments about the LGBTQ+ community, shared a post on X announcing the restriction. In the message, he wrote: “SORRY NO TRANNYS ALLOWED AT THE TOPLESS POOL PARTY. WE WILL BE CHECKING Adam’s apples n STRONG FACIAL FEATURES n LARGE HANDS. I tried to be respectful I said MS.”
Boosie also included a screenshot of an Instagram DM exchange with someone asking about tickets to the event. After directing the person to the link in his bio, the individual asked whether transgender people would be allowed to attend. Boosie replied, “No sorry no tranny ms are allowed.” The conversation ended politely, with the person responding, “Ok.”
The Baton Rouge rapper has drawn criticism over the years for a number of comments regarding LGBTQ+ issues. In February 2020, he publicly reacted to former NBA star Dwyane Wade supporting his daughter Zaya Wade after she came out as transgender, making remarks that sparked widespread backlash. Later, during an interview, Mike Tyson challenged Boosie on why he felt compelled to comment on someone else’s personal life.
In October 2021, X, then known as Twitter, removed a post by Boosie directed at Lil Nas X that contained offensive language. The two had previously exchanged public remarks, generating significant controversy online.
More recently, Boosie appeared to show a willingness to discuss some of his past comments during a conversation with Jason Lee. When asked whether he would ever perform at a Pride event, Boosie said he would not. The pair then joked back and forth about Lee’s sexuality, with the discussion ending on a lighter note despite their differing perspectives.
