Drake Joins the Viral “Shabang” Challenge While Enjoying a Getaway in Turks and Caicos

Drake is getting in on the viral craze inspired by one of the biggest tracks from his latest album.

The Toronto rapper recently appeared in a video filmed in Turks and Caicos, where he took part in the popular “Shabang” challenge that has been dominating TikTok and other social media platforms in recent weeks.

In the clip, shared by TikTok user @zarianicole, Drake is seen standing casually before a drink suddenly appears in his hand through a perfectly timed edit synced to the song’s beat. The video follows the same format that countless fans have been using while creating content with “Shabang,” one of the standout tracks from Iceman.

The challenge is centered around the song’s opening lyrics, where Drake shouts out co-producer Maneesh Bidaye with the line, “Maneesh on the beat, shabang.” The moment has inspired users to create videos in which drinks, meals, and other items seemingly appear out of nowhere through clever edits and quick transitions.

Since taking off online, the trend has exploded across TikTok, with thousands of creators sharing their own versions. Several celebrities have joined in as well, including Summer Walker and Stunna Sandy, helping the challenge reach an even wider audience.

The viral success comes as “Shabang” continues to gain traction on streaming platforms and the charts. The track currently holds the No. 8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and has become one of the standout records from Iceman.

Produced by Drake’s longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib alongside Maneesh Bidaye, the song also features ad-libs from Quavo and the late Takeoff. It has received praise from several artists, including Offset, who recently crowned it the song of the summer.

The success of “Shabang” is just one part of Drake’s latest chart-dominating run. Iceman debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while companion releases Habibti and Maid of Honour also made strong impressions. The project generated multiple Billboard Hot 100 entries and helped Drake surpass Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 hits by a male solo artist.
