Kevin Hart Reportedly Pursuing $50,000 From Former Assistant Following Tell-All Interview

Kevin Hart has reportedly filed a lawsuit against his former assistant, claiming she violated a non-disclosure agreement by participating in a tell-all interview in 2023.

According to TMZ, the comedian and actor is seeking $50,000 from Miesha Shakes, who worked for his management and corporate company, K. Hart Enterprises, between August 2017 and October 2020.

The legal dispute stems from an interview Shakes gave to gossip vlogger Tasha K, during which she discussed Hart’s personal life, marriage to Eniko Hart, and other allegations involving the entertainer. Hart alleges that the interview damaged his reputation and career. He also claims that an associate of Tasha K contacted him seeking $250,000 in exchange for preventing the interview from being released.

A 2024 report from The Blast stated that Hart had agreed to provide Shakes with $30,000 annually for three years, along with 36 months of health insurance coverage, as part of the NDA agreement. In exchange, she reportedly agreed not to disclose private information or use Hart’s name without authorization. The $50,000 Hart is now seeking represents the pre-agreed penalty for an alleged breach of that contract.

The interview aired on Unwine with Tasha K in December 2023 behind a $12-per-month subscription paywall. During the conversation, Shakes made several allegations about Hart, including claims regarding gambling, infidelity, and aspects of his business dealings.

Hart reportedly rejected the alleged extortion demand and notified law enforcement. He also sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tasha K. Although the interview was ultimately published, it has since been removed.

According to InTouch Weekly, Shakes later challenged the validity of the NDA, arguing that she was dealing with mental health struggles and financial hardship when she signed the agreement.

“Hart was fully aware of my ongoing health issues and critical need for health insurance and funds, as I could not afford health insurance or my prescribed medications,” she reportedly stated in court filings.

In his own declaration, Hart emphasized the importance of protecting his reputation, citing his role as a public figure, husband, father, and entertainer.

“Working in the entertainment industry, my livelihood depends in part on my reputation and the public’s perception of me, particularly in light of the fact that I am involved in a number of family-oriented projects,” he wrote.
