It turns out the rumors we shared earlier this week were accurate, as Justin Bieber has officially been confirmed to perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show at New York New Jersey Stadium.
On Wednesday (July 8), FIFA and Global Citizen announced Bieber as a co-headliner for the July 19 event. He’ll take the stage alongside fellow headliners Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. The star-packed lineup also includes Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, PS22 Chorus, and Coldplay.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said of joining the Chris Martin-curated lineup in a statement shared with Complex. “I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”
Bieber won’t be the only familiar face lighting up the World Cup stage. Kermit and Miss Piggy are also set to make appearances during the event. The halftime show supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative dedicated to expanding access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide. At the time of writing, the campaign has raised more than $50 million toward its $100 million target.
Global Citizen co-founder and CEO Hugh Evans described the FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show in a statement shared with Complex as “the single largest gathering of artists united for a cause since Live Aid.”
For Bieber fans, the performance marks a rare opportunity to see the SWAG artist on stage, as he’s made only a handful of live appearances in recent years. In April, he grabbed headlines with two headlining performances at Coachella, both of which are now available to watch in full on YouTube.
At the time of writing, there’s still no word on whether Bieber will announce more live shows later this year, although speculation surrounding the possibility continues to circulate.
