Young Thug and Gunna no longer appear to be on good terms following the fallout from the YSL case. The two rappers were initially arrested together and spent a significant amount of time behind bars before their legal paths eventually diverged.
Gunna was released before the trial, fueling speculation that he had cooperated with authorities. Young Thug, however, remained involved in the case and went through a lengthy trial that ultimately ended with a plea agreement.
Since then, Young Thug has made it clear that he no longer supports Gunna. In fact, he seemingly doesn’t even want to hear Gunna’s music—even when he’s featured on the track himself.
That was on display Wednesday when Young Thug stopped by a store ahead of his YSL label performance at Irving Plaza in New York. After “Dollaz On My Head” began playing over the speakers, Thug reportedly asked the store manager to turn the song off.
For many fans, the situation is disappointing. Young Thug and Gunna built a strong musical chemistry over the years, delivering numerous fan-favorite collaborations that many hoped would continue.
Whether the two will ever reconcile remains uncertain. Gunna has continued releasing successful music, while Young Thug’s recent output has received mixed reactions. As a result, fans have continued debating which artist has benefited the most in the aftermath of the YSL case.
With Future set to release a new album tonight, fans are also hoping it could include a fresh verse from Young Thug.
