Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s Hamptons estate was the scene of an unexpected incident this week that led to the arrest of a 63-year-old man.
According to TMZ, the man allegedly drove through the property’s front gate after failing to stop, causing “significant damage” to the gate’s mechanical system.
The vehicle was later impounded, while the man was taken into custody and booked into Stony Brook Hospital for evaluation.
Detective Jennifer Dunn told Page Six that the man had “no criminal history” and “seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest.” Authorities said he had been searching for a woman at a nearby residence earlier that day before the incident occurred. He was later charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
“He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue,” Dunn explained, adding that no weapons or threatening messages were found on the man. She also noted that he appeared unaware of who lived at the property.
The incident comes shortly after Jay-Z wrapped up a three-night residency at Yankee Stadium, where Beyoncé joined him as a guest performer for both the opening and closing shows.
Meanwhile, in related news, a man pleaded guilty in May and received a two-year sentence for stealing a flash drive containing unreleased Beyoncé music and other content from a Jeep Wagoneer in Atlanta in July 2025.
The vehicle was parked in a Krog Street parking garage near Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where Beyoncé performed for four non-consecutive nights.
