Despite still being in her teens, North West has already demonstrated impressive talent in both visual art and music, following in the footsteps of her father. After dropping her debut EP, N0rth4evr, earlier this year, she announced a co-headlining tour with Molly Santana, who recently gained major attention following her appearance on Drake’s ICEMAN.
However, those plans have now been scrapped. Just days before the tour was scheduled to begin on August 5, both North West and Molly Santana confirmed that they have canceled their joint tour. Neither artist has revealed the reason behind the decision.
According to NME, North addressed the cancellation in a statement shared on Instagram, writing, “I was really excited to go on tour [with] Molly Santana, sadly it isn’t happening anymore, but I have something special for you guys, see you soon.”
Santana also shared an apology with fans on Instagram. “To everyone who bought tickets to the tour, I sincerely apologize. I know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard-earned money planning to be there,” she wrote, according to Billboard. “Nothing makes me more happy than the opportunity to share more amazing memories with you all, and I hope to see you soon. You are all so greatly appreciated and please know that I never take your time or support lightly. I love you so much & I promise I will make this up to you.”
No explanation has been given for the tour’s cancellation. The official tour website now redirects visitors to a “404 – Page Not Found” screen. In addition, the Dallas House of Blues listing has been marked as canceled, while pages for most of the other scheduled stops have been removed altogether.
According to Billboard, all tour dates have been taken down except for the August 25 show in San Francisco. More details are expected as the situation develops.
