Playboi Carti is no stranger to legal issues and public controversy, and fans continue to have questions about some of the incidents surrounding the rapper. Earlier this week, CUFBOYS uploaded full body camera footage to YouTube showing a traffic stop involving Carti and his entourage. The footage is believed to be connected to his Utah detention following an alleged assault incident in October of last year.
In a clip later shared by DJ Akademiks on Instagram, Carti can be heard telling the responding officer about his celebrity status as the officer questioned him and instructed him to remain inside the vehicle.
The officer told Carti to “go sit in the car,” adding, “Gosh, dude. None of you guys listen.” He then asked who was driving him and where they had come from. Carti explained that the driver had just picked him up and that he was currently on tour with The Weeknd.
That prompted the officer to ask who he was, and Carti replied, “I’m a singer. I’m Playboi, Playboi Carti. Me and Weeknd on tour. Sold out.”
Seemingly caught off guard, the officer turned to another person at the scene and asked, “Is he actually Playboi Carti?” After receiving confirmation, the officer appeared surprised by the rapper’s identity and popularity. He then requested Carti’s driver’s license and asked who had been involved in the alleged altercation, to which Carti responded that no one had hit anyone, apparently referring to himself and the other people at the scene.

For those unfamiliar with the case, Playboi Carti faced legal action after allegedly assaulting a woman and his driver during the Utah stop while on tour. A pretrial hearing was scheduled earlier this year, but as of now, no significant updates on the case have been made public.
Many fans initially believed the woman involved was Carti’s then-girlfriend, now ex, Giovanna “Gio” Ramos. However, both Ramos and Carti appeared to deny those claims on social media.
With the body camera footage now circulating online, fans are once again looking for answers and wondering whether new developments in the case could soon emerge.
