Bunnie Xo Reveals Jelly Roll Divorce Had Her Surviving on Baby Food and IVs

Bunnie Xo kicked off her “healing era” with a 20-pound weight loss, IV fluids, and baby food.

Months after her divorce from Jelly Roll gave way to a very public summer filled with new cars, Hollywood meetings, and headline-making kisses, the Dumb Blonde host is opening up about how deeply the breakup affected her behind closed doors.

“There [were] moments when my team had to pick me up off the floor and give me IVs,” Bunnie told Jenna Bush Hager on the TODAY Show’s Open Book podcast. “Because I wasn’t eating. I was eating baby food to get by. I lost 20 pounds.”

She even found a little dark humor in the experience: “Heartbreak, man, it’s the best freaking diet.”

That admission sheds light on what had been missing from the past few months. Jelly Roll filed for divorce in May after nearly 10 years of marriage, and by July, Bunnie appeared focused on moving forward.

She bought herself a Rolls-Royce, revealed plans to return to college, and traveled to Los Angeles for meetings with agents, producers, and production companies about a possible reality show.

Then came her Fourth of July makeout with 24-year-old Calabasas Confidential star Dylan Wolf—inside Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville bar.

Bunnie later dismissed the attention surrounding the kiss. “So what, I got kissed under the fcking fireworks?” she said on Dumb Blonde. “I hope I get kissed under fcking 10 more fireworks shows.”

She insisted she wasn’t dating Wolf—or anyone else—adding, “There’s an ice box where my heart used to be.”

Apparently, building that ice box took a little time.

Speaking with Hager, Bunnie said people may have confused her decision not to publicly break down with not being hurt by the divorce. She explained that years ago, she made a conscious choice not to record herself crying for social media.

“I don’t want people to think like I’m just out here acting like nothing doesn’t hurt,” she said. “Yeah, it hurt.”

The heartbreak also came after an already difficult few years. Bunnie previously revealed that she and Jelly Roll lost four embryos during IVF, an experience she said “wrecked” her emotionally, spiritually, and physically. She also faced body-shaming over IVF-related weight gain, with commenters comparing her size to her husband’s.

And even after the divorce, their lives haven’t completely separated. The pair finalized their split in July, but Bunnie has said they still plan to have a baby together and eventually co-parent. Both have also repeatedly denied cheating rumors and continued referring to each other as best friends.

Jelly Roll made that clear himself during a June concert.

“Nobody cheated on nobody,” he told the crowd. “Bunnie, I love you, baby. Thank you for those 10 years.”

What appeared publicly to be a quick pivot after the divorce came after a private crash that Bunnie says left her barely eating.

“My heart was shattered,” she said. “But guess what? It’s healing, and it’s coming back even stronger.”
