Drake Allegedly Dropped Eight Figures On “ICEMAN” Rollout

Drake is set to deliver his “FOMO” film tonight, and fans are understandably curious about what to expect. Some are wondering whether the film will come with new music, or if it will simply center around Drizzy’s ICEMAN summer.

As for ICEMAN, the album continues to stand among the year’s biggest releases so far. If the year ended today, plenty of fans would likely have ICEMAN near the top of their lists. That’s understandable, considering the album produced a No. 1 hit with “Janice STFU.” The project also boasts some of Drake’s strongest beats, melodies and rapping in recent memory.

The ICEMAN rollout was also packed with music videos for most of the tracks, along with four elaborate, highly produced livestreams. According to DJ Akademiks, all of that production came with a hefty price tag. It is reportedly believed that Drake spent more than $12 million on the ICEMAN rollout, with the entire amount coming directly out of his own pocket.

Ultimately, the ICEMAN rollout appears to have paid off, especially in terms of shifting the conversation around Drake. Following his battle with Kendrick Lamar, many fans had written him off. However, commercially, Drake continues to maintain a strong position in the rap game.

With the latest “FOMO” rollout, fans will get a better idea of just how ambitious Drake is at this stage of his career. Whether the short film is leading into a new tour or another album remains unclear.
