Young Thug spent several years in Fulton County Jail while awaiting trial in the YSL RICO case. Ultimately, Thug reached a plea agreement that placed him on 15 years of probation. The deal secured his release, and he has remained active since getting his freedom.
During the early part of his incarceration, there was plenty of uncertainty surrounding his situation. His options for communicating with friends and family were limited, while questions also remained about whether his co-defendants might pursue deals of their own that could potentially affect his defense.
Amid all of this, one fan managed to discover a way to send messages directly to Young Thug’s iPad. The incident happened roughly six months into his time behind bars and, according to Thugger Daily on X, made a lasting impression on the rapper.
When Young Thug first received the message, he was understandably confused by what he was seeing. Once he figured out what was happening, however, he quickly made sure that Mariah The Scientist and his family received the necessary information to get in touch with him.
As Thugger Daily reports, the fan was treated to a meet-and-greet with Young Thug on Monday. The rapper even recognized her when she introduced herself, showing just how much the thoughtful gesture stayed with him during a difficult period.
Had it not been for the fan’s kind words and unexpected message, Young Thug might never have discovered that he could communicate with his loved ones. That could have made his time behind bars even more isolating. Fortunately, there were fans who cared enough to find a way to reach out to him.
Young Thug is currently touring across the United States alongside members of his YSL roster.
