Fab Morvan has disclosed that he is facing financial difficulties as his divorce battle with his longtime estranged wife continues.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the former Milli Vanilli member says he has only $3,845 in cash and bank accounts, with no investments in stocks, bonds, or other assets.
Morvan reported bringing in $1,846 per month through wages and salary, plus an additional $1,500 each month from what he described as an $18,000 annual bonus. His reported monthly expenses, however, come to $9,261.
According to the filing, more than $5,000 of those expenses are paid by Morvan’s partner, Tessa van der Steen. The couple lives outside the United States and shares four children.
The financial disclosures come as Morvan continues his divorce proceedings with Kim Marlowe, whom he secretly married on December 3, 1998. Marlowe filed for divorce in January 2024, after the marriage had remained largely unknown to the public for decades.
Marlowe is asking Morvan for $50,000 to cover her legal fees, along with another $25,000 to hire a forensic accountant who can review his finances and help determine potential support payments.
Morvan, however, maintains that he cannot afford those expenses.
The 59-year-old singer also challenges the notion that he and Marlowe had a conventional marriage that lasted for decades. Morvan says their marital relationship effectively ended about two years after their wedding, when they separated and he eventually moved to Europe.
“They have lived completely separate and apart for more than 25 years,” his filing states.
Morvan also claims he chose not to file for divorce earlier because he was afraid Marlowe would “blackmail” him. She served as his manager for years before he terminated their professional relationship in 2023.
Morvan is now requesting an accounting of the finances tied to their professional relationship. He alleges that Marlowe collected payments from projects on his behalf and says he wants to know whether all of those funds were ultimately passed on to him.
Marlowe has likewise claimed that she is experiencing financial hardship. She previously told the court that she had just $50 to her name, along with Milli Vanilli memorabilia, while requesting financial support from Morvan.
The legal battle comes decades after Milli Vanilli became one of pop music’s most notorious stories. Morvan and Rob Pilatus rose to international fame before it was revealed that they had not provided the vocals on the duo’s hit recordings. Their 1990 Grammy for Best New Artist was later revoked.
Morvan has said the situation also kept him from financially benefiting from the music’s enduring popularity. “I don’t own a cent of that,” Morvan previously said of the Milli Vanilli catalog. “My photo is used, I don’t touch a cent.”
More recently, Morvan’s memoir, You Know It’s True, which he co-wrote with Parisa Rose, received a 2026 Grammy nomination for its audiobook narration.
