Drake is going all out to celebrate his 40th birthday. The rapper turns 40 tomorrow, October 24th, but the festivities are already underway. According to XXL, Drizzy kicked off the celebrations in Toronto on Wednesday, October 21st, with a private gathering at the CN Tower. He was joined by close friends and colleagues, including Popcaan. Guests also presented him with a collage of photos capturing some of their most cherished memories together.
The celebrations didn’t stop in Toronto. Drizzy flew his friends and mother to New York City aboard Air Drake. On Thursday night, the rapper was spotted at Mamo, an Italian restaurant located in the heart of SoHo.
It seems these festivities are just the beginning, with the main birthday celebrations likely still to come this weekend. Perhaps that’s when Drake’s birthday wish will finally come true. Back in September, the rapper revealed that all he wanted for his birthday was a roast from Jim Carrey after watching his fellow Canadian and roast comedian Jeff Ross appear in a birthday video.
Drake’s birthday celebrations also serve as a chance to reflect on everything he has accomplished this year. The rapper returned with ICEMAN and two companion albums, Habibti and Maid Of Honour, all of which debuted in the top three positions on the Billboard 200. He recently released Habibti (FOMO), featuring four new tracks, including “Solar Eclipse,” which debuted at No. 5 on the Hot 100.
Adding to the excitement, Drake is rumored to be one of the headliners for the 2027 Coachella festival. Although the reports remain unconfirmed, the appearance would mark his first return to the California festival in more than a decade. With plans for a full-scale tour supporting his latest projects also in the mix, an eventual announcement of his Coachella headlining slot wouldn’t be surprising. Hopefully, more details will emerge soon.
