Druski made Saturday Night Live history on Saturday night (November 7), becoming the first primarily digital creator and celebrity to host the long-running show. His hosting debut generated plenty of excitement, including from Travis Scott, who took to Twitter to encourage fans to tune in and support his fellow entertainer.
“EVERY BODY WATCH DRUSKI SNL,” the Houston superstar wrote. “THE GREAT. I DONT GIVE A F\*\*K WHAT YOU DOING. BREAK SNL STATION FOR ONCE. HE THE ONLY ONE WE GOT.”
Several celebrity friends showed their support online, while many others showed up in person to cheer on the comedian during the live taping. Among those in attendance were Dave Chappelle, Emma Stone, Michael B. Jordan, Chris Rock, and several other familiar faces.
One of the standout moments from Druski’s Saturday Night Live hosting debut was the Dru Can See Everything. sketch, a parody of You Can See Everything, the acclaimed documentary about Elizabeth Holmes directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.
Druski brought back his whiteface look to poke fun at the documentary’s premise and the controversial businesswoman at its center. Although some viewers on social media expressed disappointment with other sketches from the episode, this particular segment appears to have emerged as a fan favorite.
Druski has several other major projects in the works, having recently secured a significant deal with Netflix and announced a new series alongside Mike Epps. The partnership is expected to bring some of his “Coulda Been” reality series and other comedy sketches to the streaming platform, with the possibility of stand-up specials and additional content down the line. However, that last part remains speculative, although fans have already been discussing the possibilities.
As for his upcoming project with Mike Epps, the Maryland-born comedian is set to star in the church-themed comedy Collect & Praise, which premieres on December 1. Fans will soon get to see how the series compares to the content that made him popular online.
With his career continuing to reach new heights, Druski has also taken time to reflect on his journey, from appreciating the celebrities who have supported him to looking back on his life before fame. As he continues making major moves in the entertainment industry, navigating this level of success will come with its own challenges. Still, his SNL hosting debut suggests that this could be only the beginning of even bigger opportunities.
