Kanye West turned his record-breaking performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday (Nov. 7) into another memorable reunion with Kid Cudi.
After the stadium revealed Cudi as the surprise guest for the Dallas-area concert, the rapper made a late-night appearance, joining Ye on stage to perform “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.”
Loren Lorosa of The Breakfast Club reported that the concert set a new record as the highest-attended rap show in U.S. history, with 83,000 tickets sold. Ye also surpassed his previous record of 74,412 tickets sold during last weekend’s Halloween performance at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
Footage from the Arlington concert also captured Ye performing his hit song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
Ye and Cudi’s relationship became strained publicly in 2022 after Ye removed Cudi’s contributions from Donda 2 because of his friendship with Pete Davidson. At the height of their disagreement, Cudi said it would take “a motherfucking miracle” for the two to become friends again.
However, by July, Cudi was telling fans on X that they were “rebuilding.” Their reconciliation became more evident on Sept. 4, when Cudi joined Ye onstage at Chicago’s Soldier Field to perform “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” and “Ghost Town.” It marked their first time sharing a stage since Coachella 2019. After Peter Rosenberg criticized the reunion, Cudi responded directly on X.
“That man is my brother… He was dealing w mental health struggles for years and now hes good,” he wrote. “Everyone deserves some grace when they family. I was the hardest on him out of anybody. I held him accountable. He apologized and it was sincere.”
Ye is scheduled to return to the U.S. stadium circuit on Nov. 21, with a performance at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The venue has a seating capacity of approximately 78,600.
