Jhené Aiko Shares That Her Home Was Lost in California Fire Disaster

The fires ripping through Southern California have claimed Jhené Aiko’s house, the singer revealed on Instagram Stories.

“Me and my children’s home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside,” shared the “Calm & Patient” artist, who has two kids, including two-year-old Noah Hasani with Big Sean.

“Lord have mercy,” she wrote. “Thankful we still have each other, starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

She followed up with another message: “Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home, those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wild life and lost pets. Praying for the wold. Let suffering be a gift, a lesson in compassion.”

Aiko clapped back at unsympathetic comments, posting on Instagram that she’s not rolling in “Paris Hilton money.”

She’s not alone in this crisis. Kid Cudi shared Wednesday night that he had to evacuate from the fires, which had spread to Hollywood Hills. Other celebrities like Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, and Billy Crystal also reported losing homes.

The situation’s massive – about 180,000 people have been ordered to evacuate. Five deaths are confirmed, though officials say they won’t know the full toll until recovery efforts progress. President Biden’s getting regular updates on the situation.

The fires have even impacted Hollywood’s award season, with several events being pushed back. The Oscars nominations announcement, originally set for Jan. 17, has been moved to Jan. 19.
