Draymond Green’s feeling remorseful after catching Jordan Poole’s recent Warriors comments.
Senior NBA writer Marc J. Spears dropped Poole’s quote on X: “‘I love those guys over there, I love most of those guys over there,’ Wizards guard Jordan Poole said on his former Warriors teammates.”
Green hit back early Sunday, seemingly aiming his words at Poole: “I really am sorry.”
The beef between Green and Poole kicked off when Green knocked Poole out during practice in 2022. When the punch video leaked online, NBA players had plenty to say.
Isaiah Thomas blasted Green on X: “He’s gonna have to see me every time after this sucker punch. Damn. That ain’t it! And whoever leaked this should be fired too.”
Trae Young figured Green was trying to get traded, writing: “Draymond is tryna get to LA. Damn!”
The drama messed up team chemistry so bad that Poole eventually got shipped to the Wizards.
Two years later, they still had tension – during a Warriors-Wizards game, Poole jumped in when Green was getting on rookie Carlton “Bub” Carrington. They traded words and pointed fingers, but kept their hands to themselves this time.
After the game, Green actually praised Poole’s improved play and shot selection.
“I think it was a matter of [Poole] wanting it so bad to prove to people that ‘I can have my own team,’ that ‘I can come here and be successful,'” Green said. “I think he’s doing a really good job of settling in now and letting the game come to him.”
