YFN Lucci Steps Out of Prison, Now a Free Man

Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci is a free man after doing nearly four years inside.

XXL and WSB-TV report he walked out of Burress Correctional Training Center in Forsyth Georgia on Friday. He’d been locked up since May 2021 on RICO charges.

The whole thing started when his friend James Adams got killed in a drive-by shooting while riding in Lucci’s car back in January 2021. The 33-year-old rapper was driving during the incident.

Things got heavier in May 2021 when they hit him with RICO charges. Last January, they dropped the murder charge and Lucci copped to one count of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act in his racketeering case.

He faced Adams’ family in court with regret: “First off, I wanna say my heart goes out to my friend, James Adams, and his family. Also, I wanna apologize to my family and my friends for putting them through this stressful process,” he shared. “I would also like to apologize to the court. That’s it.”

Last September, false rumors spread that Lucci had died in prison. His lawyer quickly shut that down, confirming he was alive and serving time.

The case was huge – Lucci was one of twelve people named in a massive 75-page, 105-count racketeering case targeting the Bloods gang. He got 10 years, but his jail time counted toward the sentence.
