Kendrick Hits Grammy Stage in Head-to-Toe Denim to Accept “Not Like Us” Awards

Kendrick Lamar dominated the Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 2, with “Not Like Us,” and his outfit choice got people talking about another possible shot at Drake.

When K-Dot hit the stage to grab his trophies – including Record of the Year and Song of the Year – he was decked out in Maison Margiela denim from head to toe, rocking a matching jacket and jeans with a chain and denim cap to boot. Here’s the tea: that all-denim look has a nickname that might raise some eyebrows – it’s called a ‘Canadian Tuxedo.’

Drake had a rough Grammy night – no nominations and no show. Though skipping wasn’t totally out of the blue – he dodged last year’s ceremony even after submitting Her Loss, his collab with 21 Savage. Plus, he’s busy performing down under in Australia right now.

Meanwhile, Kendrick’s Drake takedown track cleaned house with five Grammy wins: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. Talk about ironic given Drake’s “Family Matters” line about K-Dot and the Grammys.

But when Kendrick and “Not Like Us” producer Mustard grabbed their Record and Song of the Year trophies, Drake’s name never came up. Instead, K-Dot kept it real: “First and foremost, all praise to the most high. We woke up this morning,” he said on stage. “Rest in paradise my auntie Shannon. She transitioned yesterday, so this is special.”
