Entertainment giants Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet teamed up for a down-to-earth chat before Lamar’s big Super Bowl Halftime show.
The NFL dropped a two-part series showing the rapper and actor rolling around in a GNX – the same ride that inspired Lamar’s surprise 2024 album title. During their drive, they got real about their similar paths in the spotlight.
During part two, posted on Lamar’s pgLang YouTube, Chalamet showed his fan side by perfectly reciting every line of “The Heart Pt. II”, catching viewers by surprise.
“That’s one of my favorites, ‘Pt. II’,” Kendrick shared, and Chalamet jumped in with “Pt. II is like you’re hitting Olympic levels, bro.”
The duo vibed out, joining in on the song’s opening chorus before diving into the verses together. Kendrick couldn’t hide his grin watching Chalamet nail every line of the track from his career-launching 2010 mixtape Overly Dedicated.
“Man, I love that stuff,” Chalamet gushed.
The actor’s been making waves lately promoting his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. He’s been turning heads with his killer fashion choices during the press tour, and even pulled double duty on Saturday Night Live – both hosting and performing Dylan’s music as the show’s musical guest.
Kendrick Lamar’s getting ready to rock the Super Bowl stage on Sunday, Feb. 9. While he’s keeping his show plans and special guests under wraps, Complex has dropped some guesses about what might go down – check out their predictions at the link.
