Skai Jackson, the star of former Disney shows Jessie and Bunk’d, will soon be welcoming her first child.
The 22-year-old formally announced the news to People, although she didn’t disclose the name of her boyfriend, whom she reportedly got into an altercation with at Universal Citywalk Hollywood in August.
“I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!” Jackson told the outlet. An accompanying photo shot by photographer Diggzy (who shot maternity pictures of Rihanna in 2022) shows Jackson walking outside while wearing shades, denim jeans, black heels and a crop top, while exposing her baby bump. Another photo shows the actress walking alongside her mother, Kiya Cole.
Following the aforementioned Universal CityWalk incident, in which Jackson was reportedly seen repeatedly pushing her boyfriend, the actress was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery before being released shortly after. She has not been charged. According to TMZ, sources told the outlet that Jackson was pregnant and the couple were “happily engaged.”
“Skai is relieved that the investigation revealed that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding,” a rep for Jackson told People at the time. “We appreciate that the DA determined very quickly that there should be no charges of any kind. Skai looks forward to putting this behind her.”
The actress will next star in slasher horror film, The Man in the White Van, which releases to theaters on December 13.
