Azealia Banks is reigniting her feud with Grimes following the musician’s interview that made the rounds on social media.
In the snippet from her TIME interview, Grimes expressed concern about religion’s diminishing role in Western society. Banks reshared the clip with the response, “Go back to Canada bitch.” She added, “You’re not a fucking American. I think you obviously being on speed and Elon on K with custody of children is very bad and dangerous. Dumb bitch.”
In another tweet, she kept throwing jabs at the musician, who she’s fought with many times before. “She has such an ugly nose,” she wrote. “Bitch wanna make racial jokes with that big ass ugly Slavic fucking nose. Chop it off hoe.”
In 2018, Banks claimed that she spent days at Elon Musk’s house waiting for Grimes to arrive so they could collaborate on music. She then implied that Grimes only brought her to Los Angeles to stay at Musk’s place for “some weird threesome sex shit.” She continued attacking Grimes, who later created a song she said was about when Banks “tried to destroy my life.”
While things between the two had been relatively quiet in the years after, they clashed again in December 2024 when Grimes shared an AI-generated image of herself as Glinda and Banks as Elphaba. The rapper went after Grimes’ personal life, especially her custody fight with ex-partner Elon Musk. The strange exchange ended with Grimes admitting that she did once, as Banks famously claimed, “smell like a roll of nickels” because she had shell casings in her purse.
