Mase Claims He’d Consider Jail Visit to Diddy Despite Not ‘Condoning’ His Behavior

In the newest episode of It Is What It Is, Mase opened up about attending Voletta Wallace’s funeral and said he’d potentially visit Diddy in jail.

Cam’ron offered condolences to the Wallace family and mentioned hearing that Mase sat next to Diddy’s son Christian “King” Combs at the service. “I don’t think he saw me, I would have said what’s up,” Mase responded. “I mean, if my name was on the list I’d go visit Puff, you know? … I would visit him, make sure he was good.” Cam joked, “Why wouldn’t you do it was he was out?”

After laughing, Mase explained, “These are the times when you need people to check up and make sure you’re good.” He stressed that he doesn’t “condone” Diddy’s alleged actions while awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but would check on him before a verdict. “He didn’t do all bad, he did some good,” he added. “I ain’t talking about the tape stuff and all of that, I’m talking about the musical side. Giving me an opportunity, I think as a person of class you definitely got to show up and sit somewhere in the court if they let you.”

Mase, planning to drop an album when Diddy’s trial starts later this year, has a rocky history with his former boss. When Cam asked if he thinks Diddy’s innocent, Mase replied, “I don’t know. If they throw my name on the list, I think right now will be a perfect time for me and him to have a conversation.”

Before discussing Diddy, he described the “heartfelt” funeral attended by Lil’ Kim, Faith Evans, and Gloria Carter. “It was interesting, it was good but then it was also, like, heartfelt because while I was sitting there I was thinking it felt like an end of an error,” he shared around the 1:20 mark. “That’s what I was looking at when I was sitting there just looking at all of the videos. … If you were there and I didn’t say hello, it’s just ’cause my mind was somewhere else. It was probably some people I should have said hello to, but my brain was somewhere else.”
