Drake shouted out Bun B on his 52nd birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute.
The Grammy winner posted a throwback photo with the UGK legend on Wednesday, writing: “My real family and a true mentor. Always showed up for me and brought me into his world for a pat on the back or a reality check or some good ol game. …There’s only one Bun B MORE LIFE.”
Drake showed love to Bun B on his 52nd birthday with a tribute to his longtime rap mentor.
Bun B has been supporting Drake for 15 years, starting with their first collab “It’s Been a Pleasure.” They’ve worked together on other tracks like “Uptown” and “Put It Down.”
Last year, Drake bought a Texas estate near Houston, and Bun welcomed him at his 2024 All-American Takeover concert.
“I can’t say enough about The Boy. He’s coming here on his own dime, spending extra money to try to increase the production value for his section of the show,” Bun told Complex. “All just to, you know, let people know that he’s happy to be home.”
Last August, Bun B also defended Drake against Sauce Walka’s claims that he doesn’t collaborate with Houston rappers.
