Plaqueboymax is living up to his status as Complex’s second most powerful hip-hop streamer with his latest EP, recorded in a single night on his Twitch livestream In the Booth.
The quick 10-minute project, 5$tar Sessions: London, features five tracks with UK artists including Skepta, Lancey Foux, YT, and others.
During YT’s verse on “1000 (spin again),” he references British adult film star Bonnie Blue, known for claiming she slept with over 1,000 men in one day.
“I got jeans on and they’re black, still my pockets blue / I just blew through a thousand like I’m Bonnie Blue,” YT rapped, prompting Max to exclaim, “Ayo, really?”
“Pause n***a, I ain’t Bonnie Blue,” YT clarified. According to Dazed, the moment went viral with over 3 million TikTok views in less than 24 hours.
Earlier this week, Will Smith joined Max’s stream and got schooled on Playboi Carti by the New Jersey streamer. After Smith mentioned that he and his son Jaden listen to Carti, Max played “OBM Babi” from the Atlanta rapper’s new album MUSIC.
“I like the rhythm,” remarked Smith, who’s dropping his first album in twenty years later this month. “I’m a lyricist. So, in a club, that would feel nice, where you’re just vibing.”
Smith also stepped into the booth with Max, though he doesn’t appear on the London version of 5$tar Sessions.
