In a recent interview with Complex, Jonathan Majors addressed previously unreleased audio obtained by Rolling Stone, where he seemingly admitted to having “aggressed” his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari after an argument in 2022.
When questioned about the recording, Majors said he couldn’t “speak to it,” but repeatedly mentioned he continues to “do my work,” suggesting ongoing efforts to address the issues highlighted in the audio.
Majors was ordered by a judge to complete a 52-week domestic violence intervention program after being found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Marvel dropped him shortly after. He had played Kang the Conqueror and his variants in the Disney+ series Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. His sentencing didn’t include jail time.
“I was so grateful that I had done my work, you know? And I’m continuing to do my work,” Majors continued. “Because, I mean, I can’t speak to it. But obviously—because you’re talking about it. There were vibrations, you know? Reverberations. Same as everything before, you know? But I was just—I was happy I’d done my work, you know? I was happy I had done my work.”
In the uncovered audio, Majors expresses regret over an incident that happened while they lived together in London during filming of Loki season two. “I’m ashamed I’ve ever— ,” he begins, before stopping himself. “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”
“You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” Jabbari interjects.
“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah,” Majors replied. “That’s never happened to me.”
Majors previously commented on the audio during an appearance on Sherri.
“God has a plan and sometimes you just throw your hands up,” he told Sherri Shepherd. “I can’t speak about it, but I do know there’s a plan and I’ve let go of control. I just say, ‘Whatever it is, it is.'”
Majors is now promoting his film Magazine Dreams, currently in theaters. Directed by Elijah Bynum, it also stars Taylour Paige, Harrison Page, Haley Bennett, Harriet Sansom Harris, and Mike O’Hearn. The movie follows aspiring bodybuilder Killian Maddox, played by Majors.
In other news, Majors tied the knot with actress Meagan Good in a small ceremony earlier this month. The couple announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala back in November.
