Kevin Gates claims to have a powerful energy about him.
During his chat with Bobbi Althoff on The Really Good Podcast, the Atlanta rapper explained how people seem naturally “attracted” to him and shared a story about a monk.
“I met a fuckin’ monk one time that said he never talked but he had to talk to me,” Gates claimed around the 1:47:20 mark, adding that the monk taught him about his “chi,” or the “energy that’s in your body.”
When Althoff asked if the man is still a monk, Gates replied, “I don’t know but I know…he said he had broke his vow of silence to talk to me. He said something about my aura. I meet some of the most interesting people everywhere I go. People just talk to me, and I don’t even look approachable.”
He added, “Some people be afraid of greatness. I’m so great, they be afraid to approach me.”
Later in the episode, Bobbi was surprised when Gates’ voice changed during a call with his mother. He was telling her he’d visit later that night. When Mama Gates said it would be “very late,” he responded he “don’t give a damn what it’s going to be,” with attitude.
Gates took her off speaker and seemed to get an earful. His tone then softened as he said, “I’m gonna come tonight. OK, I love you, bye.”
