Channing Tatum Declares He’s Done With ‘Fat Roles’ in Future Projects

Channing Tatum is swearing off dramatic weight changes for film roles.

The Blink Twice actor, 44, posted an Instagram carousel on Friday (March 22) showcasing his body transformation, revealing he dropped from 235 to 175 pounds for the upcoming crime drama Roofman before climbing back to 205.

“We back up!” Tatum declared in the caption with a poolside photo of himself.

The actor thanked his chef, nutritionist, and trainer for helping him transform. “I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys. But i won’t be doing anymore fat roles haha,” he wrote.

“It’s [too] hard on the body and to hard to take off now. But damn when i look at these pics it’s just wild what the human body and will can do,” Tatum added.

During a 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Tatum, who starred in all three Magic Mike films, revealed the unhealthy reality behind getting in shape for the franchise.

“You have to starve yourself,” he admitted in the video below. “I don’t think when you’re that lean, it’s actually healthy.”

“Honestly, I don’t know how people with regular 9-to-5 jobs stay fit, because it’s my full-time job and I can barely manage it,” he continued.

Tatum also mentioned that his body doesn’t shed weight like before, saying he “can’t get it off” and now only fluctuates about 15 pounds when previously he could drop that amount with ease.
