Logic Hits Back at Maxo Kream’s Copying Claims, Says He’s ‘Never Heard’ of Him

Logic fires back at plagiarism allegations.

After Maxo Kream called out Logic for allegedly copying his 2019 track “Meet Again,” the Maryland rapper responded to the accusation. Maxo had quote-tweeted a clip from FaZe Adapt’s stream where Logic previewed “700 Club” featuring Wiz Khalifa from his upcoming album Side Quest.

“Jus stole my song huh,” Maxo wrote about the preview.

When Mike Dean, who co-produced “Meet Again,” spotted Kream’s accusation, he commented on Complex’s post, writing, “Pay us.”

“I don’t be on the internet and somebody hit me about this dude I’ve never heard of before named Maxo Kream, who’s pretty dope. So probably like 45 minutes ago, somebody showed me some Complex thing that was like, ‘Logic stole this dude’s song’ or whatever,” he said, referring to the Complex post that prompted Dean’s response.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know who that is!’ Then I went and listened to the song and I was like, ‘Oh wow, yeah, it’s the same sample.’ And it’s been sampled like 15 times since the ’70s. Nas has sampled it, everybody’s sampled it,” he explained, referring to Cloud One’s 1976 track “Dust to Dust,” which Nas used for his 2012 song, “Daughters.”

Logic added that he created “700 Club” “from scratch” during a Twitch stream. He then suggested he and Maxo collaborate on a track.

“I’m not with any of the, you know, bullshit,” he said. “I love seeing Hip Hop musicians thrive and do great. And this is just me very respectfully saying: I’ve never heard of Maxo Kream. I’m actually really happy I have ’cause now, since I’ve checked out his music, I’m like, ‘Yo, this shit is tight!’

He continued, “But I didn’t take your shit. I don’t have time for none of that shit. I just want you to win, I want everybody to win, and this is me being like, ‘My producer used a sample, I rapped on the shit, and if you want to see me do it from scratch, go look it up.’

“It’s nothing but love, man. Shit, let’s do a record!,” he continued. “Let’s get this money and turn the fuck up! That’s what we should be doing. We’re brothers.”

Maxo hasn’t responded yet.
