The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) received 125 complaints about Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, with Drake getting mentioned in some.
According to TMZ, many complainants were upset about inappropriate lyrics and dancing. Others claimed the show featured anti-American themes, while some criticized the all-Black performer lineup. Around ten complaints specifically mentioned disappointment that Kendrick used the platform to continue his Drake beef, with one calling it a “personal vendetta.”
“Kendrick Lamar made fake false and scandalous claims that are unfounded,” one complaint stated, questioning lyrics from his Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us.” “He [said] Drake was a pedophile on TV in front of [a] million… [people], do better, this is a sad day.”
Oddly, one complaint singled out Serena Williams’ cameo, accusing her of promoting “gang affiliation.”
Despite these complaints, the number is relatively small considering 133.5 million people watched live. The 2025 halftime show generated 3.65 billion views overall, including 1.7 billion from user content. For comparison, Rihanna’s 2024 show received about 100 complaints, while J.Lo and Shakira’s 2020 performance drew over 1,300.
