Lil Durk Breaks 2025 Record for Most RIAA Certifications in Hip-Hop

Lil Durk is on fire.

Just before dropping his ninth album Deep Thoughts, the Chicago rapper hit a major milestone with 53 new RIAA certifications — more than any other hip-hop artist in 2025. Durk celebrated on Instagram by sharing an Alamo Records graphic showcasing all his certified works.

His certified projects include Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 (2020), 7220 (2022), and Almost Healed (2023). His biggest singles are “Broadway Girls” with Morgan Wallen (5x platinum), “3 Headed Goat” featuring Lil Baby and Polo G (4x platinum), and “All My Life” with J. Cole (4x platinum).

The RIAA confirmed Durk has now “cemented himself among the top 50 artists of all time with 52.5 million units.”

This achievement comes as Durk faces serious legal trouble. The 32-year-old (real name Durk Devontay Banks) awaits trial for allegedly orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot targeting Quando Rondo that resulted in the death of Quando’s cousin Saviay’a Robinson in 2022. Authorities claim the attack was revenge for King Von’s murder.

Durk has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His trial is set for October 14, 2025, and he could face life imprisonment if convicted.
