Wendy’s jumped at the chance to roast Katy Perry right after she returned from Blue Origin’s space journey.
On Monday (April 14), the 143 singer joined Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyễn, and Kerianne Flynn aboard the NS-31, which blasted off from West Texas. The all-female crew spent about eleven minutes in space before touching down, but Wendy’s apparently wished Perry could have stayed up there a bit longer.
After the space mission landed, Pop Crave confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, that Perry had “returned from space,” to which Wendy’s official account shot back, “Can we send her back.”

The burger chain didn’t stop there with the jokes, parodying Perry’s 2008 smash hit “I Kissed a Girl” with a caption about Perry kissing the ground when the spacecraft landed.

When somebody asked if Perry was only in space for ten minutes, Wendy’s cracked back, “Don’t short change her it was 11 minutes.”
Seemingly throwing shade at Perry was Kesha, who posted a picture of herself drinking from a Wendy’s cup. The two pop stars reportedly have beef after Perry’s latest album was co-produced by Dr. Luke, who Kesha accused of rape. Their years-long defamation lawsuits and countersuits finally ended with a settlement in June 2023.

Slamming the space mission was Emily Ratajkowski, who blasted it as being “paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet.” Blue Origin was founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, who also created Amazon and SpaceX. Echoing Ratajkowski’s thoughts earlier was Olivia Munn, who labeled the trip “gluttonous.”
