Cardi B claims her upcoming album will be “messy.” During a recent chat with Billboard at the Revolve Festival, the rap star shared some fresh details about her long-awaited new project that fans have been desperate for.
“I almost want to say the name because that’s what it’ll be about,” Cardi teased before dropping a few more intriguing hints. “I feel like my album is messy. She’s a messy queen.”
Cardi spilled a little more about what kinds of tracks will appear on the album.
“I feel like it’s unexpected and I feel like it’s something that’s not really out right now,” she said. “It’s gonna be things that people do expect me and a lot of things people don’t expect from me.”
“I’ve been heartbroken and then I’m loving again,” she went on, talking about the experiences influencing the project, before adding that there’ll be some tracks to fight to as well.
These fresh details about Cardi’s album come nearly a year after she announced she wouldn’t be dropping anything in 2024.
She dropped this bombshell last May after a fan posted on X mocking her previous promises about releasing her repeatedly-delayed album. The fan wrote, “‘I’m so excited to put out new music.’ ‘I can’t wait to drop my album.’ ‘Wait until I drop this song.’ ‘Album coming soon,'” alongside a picture of her basically rolling her eyes.
After a heated exchange with fans, Cardi revealed she wouldn’t be releasing music after they ticked her off. “Anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year ..Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer,” she wrote.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Cardi’s second album ever since she dropped her debut Invasion of Privacy in 2018. That record featured her smash hits “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny.
