The musician previously called Ye, who recently showcased Saint West on the Bully cover art and mentioned him as inspiration for parts of the concept, has dropped another story about his and Kim Kardashian’s oldest boy.
In an X post early Tuesday, Ye recounted something Saint (supposedly) said to Tyler, The Creator during a Kardashian Christmas celebration. The timing and background of this alleged comment weren’t specified.
“At the Kardashian Christmas party, Saint told Tyler, The Creator ‘my dad is better than you,'” Ye wrote in an all-caps message on X.
While Ye didn’t add more details, it’s easy to connect this comment to his other recent Tyler-focused shots. Back in March, Ye tried claiming that Tyler, who he once praised as essential to his classic Yeezus album, “has never made a memorable song.” He also claimed Tyler’s “last album,” likely referring to the critically acclaimed Chromakopia, “ripped off my whole language.”
More lately, Ye called Tyler and Kendrick Lamar “the two most overrated so-called artists.” Like with Tyler, Ye’s new criticism of Kendrick contradicts positive things he’s said before.
This kind of talk has been popping up randomly alongside Nazi references and other shocking social media behavior. Sometimes, Ye seems to embrace these symbols and hate speech in ways that sadly suggest sincerity. Yet he’s also hinted, though confusingly, that all this might be performance art or a revenge-driven “gimmick,” or perhaps a mix of both.
