ASAP Rocky confesses he swipes clothes from Rihanna’s wardrobe—sometimes without her even knowing.
In a fresh interview on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, which you can listen to here, Rocky opened up about blending the boundaries between femininity and masculinity.
“Man, pardon my language, I do what the fuck I want,” Rocky said around the 17:40 mark of the episode. “But in all fairness, I want to represent [and] be a catalyst for daring men. I don’t know who drew the line between femininity — or just being feminine—and masculinity … I don’t know who drew that line, but I don’t see any barriers for me.”
“It’s not fair that my girl could just go in my closet and just take anything from it and wear it,” he said about Rihanna. “That goes both ways. She has pieces she don’t know that I actually stole, you get what I’m saying?”
Though Rocky admits the “Diamonds” singer regularly borrows his clothes too.
“Sometimes you can see her on an interview or see a paparazzi photo, like, ‘Wait, there goes my Miu Miu fucking jacket! Like, what the fuck? I was looking for that since 2021.'”
Later in the conversation, Rocky emphasized there are “no barriers” for him when getting dressed, and talked about challenging traditional views on items like kilts, pearls, and head wraps.
“These are all things that were meant to be emasculated and meant to look feminine,” he pointed out. “And they all started out with African men wearing them. Another fact.”
Rocky will be co-chairing the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5. He’ll be joined by Coleman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour. LeBron James will also serve as an honorary chair.
