Tiffany Haddish reveals she went on dates just to get free food when she was broke.
The comedian-actress has previously shared about the extreme measures she took to survive before finding fame, including selling her used underwear. Haddish also used men for free meals, which she explained during an Instagram Live this week.
Haddish started by saying she “cares too much about other people” because she felt ignored when she was struggling financially.
“Do you know how horrible it is to go on a date with a guy because you need a meal?” the Haunted Mansion star asked in the clip below. “I don’t even want to be nice to this person or get to know him. I’m hungry.”
Haddish also predicted we’ll see “a lot more thinner people” because of skyrocketing grocery prices.
“We’re about to learn how amazing the human body can be when you don’t eat,” she said. “Or, we’re just gonna have more [malnourished] people because they’ll be eating stuff out of packages…”
Haddish probably won’t be among those struggling financially; in January, the star posted an upbeat Instagram reel about her improved financial skills.
“My relationship with money for the last 10 years?” she captioned the post, which showed her making out with a dollar bill. “We have had our ups and downs over the years, But We are growing and are stronger than ever.”
