Diddy Stopped a ‘Freak-Off’ to Track Down and Face Suge Knight in L.A., According to Cassie’s Court Statement

Cassie briefly spoke about the longstanding feud between Diddy and Suge Knight, stating that Diddy interrupted a “freak-off” to confront Knight in Los Angeles.

“We were having a freak-off in one of [Diddy’s] homes in LA and he said Suge was at Mel’s Diner, and we packed up and drove down there,” Cassie testified Tuesday during Diddy’s federal sex trafficking trial, NBC reports. “I was screaming and crying, ‘Please don’t do anything stupid.’ I didn’t know what they were going to do.”

“It’s like I wasn’t even there,” Cassie added, according to Associated Press.

Her testimony was backed up by courtroom reporter Matthew Russell Lee, who’s known on social media as Inner City Press.

When Diddy came back, he kept quiet about what went down, and it wasn’t clear if the Bad Boy Records founder had actually run into Knight.

The beef between these music moguls stretches back to the ’90s, when their labels were at the heart of the East Coast vs. West Coast rap rivalry. Their conflict escalated with the deaths of Knight’s Death Row Records artist 2Pac in 1996, and Diddy’s Bad Boy artist, The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997.

Last March, Suge—currently doing a 28-year prison stint—sent a warning Diddy’s way after the raids on his Miami and LA properties.

“It’s a bad day for hip-hop…for the culture…Black people, because if one looks bad, we all look bad,” Knight said on his Collect Call with Suge Knight podcast. “That’s definitely not nothing to cheer about.”

Knight added, “But I’ll tell you what, Puffy: your life is in danger.” Suge claimed Diddy knows “the secrets” and because of that, “they gonna get you if they can.”

Diddy is currently facing trial for racketeering and sex trafficking charges. If convicted, he could spend life behind bars.
