Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has reportedly reached out to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ family expressing interest in possibly attending his federal trial to show support.
According to CNN, citing a source “close to Combs,” Ye—currently in New York City—is considering showing up in court as Diddy faces serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. The Chicago rapper remains one of the few public figures to stand by Diddy since his arrest last September.
CNN reports that Ye also reached out to Diddy’s son, Christian “King” Combs, to discuss the possibility of attending the trial alongside the Combs family. The source added that Ye and Christian are currently collaborating on music.
It’s been suggested that Ye may show up once the defense begins presenting its case, which could happen soon, as the prosecution is expected to wrap up as early as next week.
This week in court, attention briefly shifted when an alleged victim, identified as “Jane,” testified about a January 2024 trip to Las Vegas involving a famous male rapper and his girlfriend. The trip was reportedly to celebrate the girlfriend’s birthday.
Ye has been vocal in his support of Sean “Diddy” Combs throughout the investigation. In March, he went on a controversial posting spree—sharing and deleting troubling tweets that included antisemitic and hateful comments, praise for Hitler, and personal confessions. Among those posts, he called Diddy his “brother,” urged Donald Trump to “free him,” and even dropped a Sean John collection on his Yeezy site in a public show of loyalty.
