Walton Goggins shut down questions about his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood in a recent interview.
Fans of HBO’s hit black comedy drama think there’s bad blood between the actors after season three wrapped, especially since they unfollowed each other on Instagram. The rumored tension apparently started when Saturday Night Live did a parody of Wood that the actress found offensive, while Goggins actually praised the sketch by posting a clip on his Instagram Stories last month. Goggins added fuel to the speculation when he refused to discuss Wood during an interview with The Times of London. Reporter Ed Potton brought up the actress multiple times and directly asked if they’d fallen out, which Goggins pushed back against.
“I’m not gonna have that conversation,” Goggins stated, with his American publicist jumping in to add, “We’re not going there, thank you.”
The actor tried steering the conversation toward his 2024 film, The Uninvited, directed by his wife, Nadia Conners, but Potton kept circling back to Wood. Goggins called out Potton for being “least interested” in the comedy-drama, and when pressed about the actress two more times, he completely shut the interview down.
“There is no conversation to be had about that. Sharing politics on social media — it’s in a vacuum,” Goggins insisted.
“What the f***, Ed!” Goggins fired back. “Come on buddy. Wow.”
Just last month, Goggins had nothing but praise for Wood, claiming he and the actress “became very close” while filming The White Lotus. “I love her, ya know? I adore her as a human being,” he said in the TikTok below.
“This relationship between these two people that I will take with me,” he added, referring to their characters Rick and Chelsea. “It’s the one thing that will continue to live on in my experience of this show.”
