Kehlani is showing major love to her fans by giving back in a meaningful way.
On Thursday, August 7, the “Folded” singer announced she’s offering free laundry services to mothers nationwide — a heartfelt gesture inspired by the overwhelming support for her latest single.
“Growing up, I knew how hard it was for all the single mamas in my family to get the tasks done on top of it all,” she shared on Instagram. “Clean clothes is a basic necessity. I got y’all.”
For Kehlani, it’s a full-circle moment — giving back to the same kind of women who have lifted her up along the way.
Kehlani’s heartfelt single “Folded,” which touches on calmly letting go of a past relationship, has sparked more than just emotional reactions — it’s also inspired real-world action.
“Come pick up your clothes / I had them folded,” she sings in the song’s chorus. While the track has been a slow climb on the Billboard charts, it’s found viral success on TikTok, especially in videos featuring dance clips synced to the post-hook.
To celebrate the track’s growing impact, Kehlani is offering free laundry services to moms across the country. The initiative is in partnership with nonprofit group Current Initiatives and their Laundry Project, alongside L.A.-based creative director City James, whom Kehlani credits for the idea.
The giveaway will take place on Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to noon local time at select laundromats nationwide, including:

No RSVPs are required, and services will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
“i love you mommy’s. you deserve the world,” Kehlani wrote.
She also made it clear she won’t be at any of the locations herself, adding, “This is a giveback, not a gathering.”
