Kanye West Hit With New Lawsuit Over Alleged Sucker Punch Assault

The lawsuit arrives shortly after Kanye West dropped his latest studio album, “Bully,” last month and made his return to live performances.

Now, Kanye West is being sued by a man who claims the artist assaulted him at the Chateau Marmont in April 2024. The alleged victim, identified as John Doe in legal documents obtained by TMZ, says West walked up to his table and suddenly punched him in the face.

According to the filing, the blow knocked him to the ground, where he “hit his head and lost consciousness.” The lawsuit further alleges that West “repeatedly punched him as he lay unconscious on the ground.”

As for what may have sparked the incident, the man claims West wrongly accused him of acting inappropriately toward a woman in his group. “[West] repeated and embellished these lies during a widely viewed podcast appearance, exposing plaintiff to public scorn, suspicion and ridicule,” the lawsuit states.

Kanye West has not publicly responded to the allegations so far.

Elsewhere, Kanye West has recently made his way back to the stage following the release of his latest album, Bully. Earlier this month, he headlined two shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. However, things took a turn when he attempted to perform in the United Kingdom ahead of Wireless Festival in London.

The Home Office denied his request to enter the country, pointing to his past antisemitic controversies. That decision ultimately led to the cancellation of the festival. “As a result of the Home Office banning YE from entering the United Kingdom, Wireless Festival has been forced to cancel,” organizers shared in a statement on Instagram. “All ticket holders will receive an automatic full refund.”

In response, West expressed interest in sitting down with members of the Jewish community in London in an effort to make things right. “To Those I’ve Hurt: I’ve been following the conversation around Wireless and want to address it directly. My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music,” he wrote. “I know words aren’t enough – I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here. With Love, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.”

Despite the setback, he still has performances lined up in the coming months across India, the Netherlands, France, and other countries.
