Kanye West has taken another international loss, as FC Basel has decided not to go ahead with a planned concert in Switzerland.
The Swiss football club, known for hosting major events at St. Jakob-Park, confirmed to Reuters that it opted out of supporting the show after internal discussions. In a statement, a representative explained that the decision came down to aligning with the club’s core values.
“FCB received an enquiry and considered it,” the spokesperson said. “However, after thorough review, we have decided not to proceed with the project, as we cannot, in accordance with our values, provide a platform for the artist in question within this context.”
The concert was reportedly set for June, but its cancellation makes Basel the latest European stop to fall through as Ye continues to face pushback abroad.
In recent weeks, several appearances linked to the rapper-producer have unraveled. A show in Poland was called off after officials pointed to legal concerns, while a planned performance in France was delayed amid political backlash. Over in the U.K., Ye was denied entry, which led to the cancellation of a major festival slot at Wireless Festival.
Much of the resistance stems from controversy surrounding Kanye West’s past public remarks, including antisemitic statements that have sparked strong criticism from government officials and cultural figures across Europe.
Despite the setbacks, Ye has continued performing elsewhere, including two sold-out shows in Los Angeles earlier this month. He has also issued apologies in recent months, linking some of his past behavior to personal struggles and expressing a desire to move forward.
Still, with cancellations piling up, it’s clear his international plans are facing serious hurdles—especially in regions where his past comments are under heavy scrutiny.
