D4vd, charged with the murder of teen Celeste Rivas Hernandez, is reportedly not on suicide watch while behind bars. The 21-year-old, however, is facing a decidedly strict set of rules during his time in a Los Angeles County jail.
That’s the word from TMZ, which cited “law enforcement sources” in a recent report on the case. Per the publication, D4vd is said to be living in a segregated cell, and he’s only given shower privileges every other day. He’s also reportedly facing strict phone privilege terms, with the publication’s sources saying he’s only able to make calls in tandem with allotted shower days.
The report goes on to claim that D4vd is given three hours of recreational time per week, with visitors not currently allowed. Additionally, one of TMZ’s “law enforcement sources” was quoted as saying that the Withered artist doesn’t currently have money on his books. The facility itself, meanwhile, is described as “dirty.”
D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, is charged in the case with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
“Celeste was just a child, under 14 years old, when David Burke allegedly engaged in repeated lewd and lascivious sexual relations with her,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said when detailing the charges. “But Burke’s actions did not allegedly stop there. When she threatened to expose his criminal conduct and devastate his musical career, Burke allegedly murdered her, cut up her body and stuffed her body in two bags that were placed in the front trunk of his car.”
Hochman continued: “There the dismembered body sat for over four months decomposing until it was found at a tow yard on Sept. 8, 2025. This horrific and gruesome murder committed by the charged sexual predator is shocking and appalling. To Celeste’s loved ones, we will get the justice you seek and deserve.”
In a recent statement, attorneys for D4vd—including Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter—reiterated their stance that evidence will show their client “did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” whose family has also since issued a statement of their own.
