Doja Cat was live on Twitch playing the first-person shooter game “Overwatch” when Kai Cenat suddenly popped into her stream.
Despite Cenat gifting 50 subs, Doja Cat didn’t react and kept playing as if nothing happened. In the now-viral clip, the notification goes unnoticed while fans in the chat start flooding messages with Cenat’s name.
The moment has sparked mixed reactions online. “Why is she acting all moody and bitter like that?” one user questioned on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote: “This is a no shocker…these chicks has been put on a pedestal their entire lives, a lot of men has simped for them…”
On the flip side, some fans came to Doja’s defense. “Bro said she has no reaction, oh she was suppose to take off her dress and dance naked?” one user responded. Another added: “i cant believe noones said it but shes probabley just computer illiterate. somone set up her stream for her, she has no clue what a ‘gift sub’ is.”
It’s still unclear whether Doja Cat intentionally ignored Kai Cenat’s gift or simply didn’t notice it. During the stream, she stayed focused on playing “Overwatch,” even taking a moment to share her love for the game. “I’m gonna play Overwatch and I love Overwatch. You know what else I love? I love Juno. I love playing Juno on Overwatch because she’s just that girl. She’s amazing. She’s fabulous,” she said at one point.
In 2025, Doja Cat dropped her fifth studio album, Vie, which featured just one guest appearance from SZA on the track “Take Me Dancing.” The project debuted at No. 4 on the US Billboard 200, pulling in 57,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
She’s currently on the road for her Tour Ma Vie World Tour in support of the album. While she’s overseas right now, she’s set to return to North America in October, with stops in cities like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Miami, before closing things out in New York City in December.
