Sean Gathright and three other codefendants have been found guilty of murder in connection to the shooting of Foolio nearly two years ago.
The trial officially concluded yesterday (Friday, May 8) after about a month in court, ending with convictions for Isaiah Chance, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy. A fourth codefendant, Sean Gathright, was also ruled guilty—and his reaction inside the courtroom quickly drew attention.
As reported by My Mixtapez on Twitter, Gathright broke down in tears the moment the verdict was read, with an officer stepping in to escort him out. He’s also the same defendant who allegedly attempted to flee an interrogation room earlier this week, with footage of the incident making rounds online.
That moment adds to a string of dramatic developments surrounding the case. Another convicted individual reportedly hinted at their guilt, laughed during proceedings, and even caused a courtroom outburst that led to officers removing him in handcuffs.
The entire case has been tough to watch unfold, both because of its seriousness and how widely it’s played out online. Foolio’s killing is believed to be tied to ongoing gang tensions and diss tracks, among other factors. Now, attention shifts to what sentences the convicted men will face.
For those who may not know, Foolio was fatally shot nearly two years ago while celebrating his birthday in Tampa. Isaiah Chance and his girlfriend, Alicia Andrews—who had already been convicted on lesser manslaughter charges—reportedly shared his location with the other three suspects, who then carried out the attack.
Andrews is still awaiting her sentencing. Meanwhile, the penalty phase for Foolio’s convicted killers is set to begin next week on Monday (May 11), where the court will decide whether the four men will face the death penalty or life in prison.
For now, all four remain behind bars as they await their fate. The case has also brought renewed attention to the origins of the feud, particularly Foolio’s public conflict with Yungeen Ace and others.
Sean Gathright’s emotional courtroom reaction came after a long and intense legal battle filled with years of tension. With the guilty verdict now delivered, the case is nearing its final chapter—a journey that has been especially тяжел for the late rapper’s family and is finally approaching its conclusion.
