Pete Davidson recently shared an embarrassing childhood story about the time his grandfather caught him watching a gay adult video.
In a clip obtained by TMZ, the 32-year-old comedian recalled during a stand-up set that he accidentally came across a graphic gay adult video at just 8 years old and continued watching it out of curiosity.
Davidson explained that the infamous “Lemon Party” clip showed “six 70-year-old men” while the whistling theme song from The Andy Griffith Show played in the background.
“I clicked it and it was horrible. It’s a video of six 70-year-old men, white guys, blowing each other to the Andy Griffith theme song,” Davidson said before whistling the tune. “I watched the whole thing cuz I was eight, and I was like, ‘What happens?’”
Things took an even more awkward turn when Davidson heard his grandfather returning home from a Knights of Columbus outing. He quickly turned off the screen and muted the volume, but his grandfather noticed something was off and demanded to know what he had been watching.
“I’m trying to click out of it and I hear my grandpa get home from the Knights of Columbus,” Davidson recalled. “He starts coming downstairs, I freak out. I shut off the screen and I turn off the volume. But like an idiot, I just sat there.”
Davidson said his grandfather jokingly asked if he was watching “our favorite girl,” leading the comedian to respond that his favorite girl should actually be his grandmother.
After going back and forth about turning the screen back on, Davidson tried warning him by saying it looked like “the worst night at the Knights of Columbus, ever.” Despite the warning, his grandfather still insisted on seeing it.
“He grabs my neck and he squeezes it,” Davidson said. “He goes, ‘Turn on the fucking screen.’”
Davidson admitted he accidentally turned the volume back on too, giving his grandfather what he called “the full experience.” He said the moment ended with his grandfather punching the computer screen before refusing to ever talk about it again.
“He turned away from me and he went, ‘Peter, we are never to speak of this,’” Davidson recalled.
